Hello, my name is Curtis Anderson. I am from Arkansas. I know, I know, there isn’t much there but it’s where I call home. I’ve lived there for most of my life. I’ve lived around Little Rock but grew up majorly in the countryside of Arkansas. I enjoy the in between country and city living. When I get out, I want to work and get some land. My dream is to have a farm where I raise chickens, turkeys, cows, and horses. I also want to build a greenhouse and garden and grow my own food. I find that all rewarding and like a piece of heaven on Earth. I enjoy the outdoors and would love for my life and work to be all about that lifestyle. I would say people describe me as a very interesting character. I personally would describe myself as funny, selfless, and honest. I believe humor can get people through tough times. I have a big heart and want to help people as much as I can. I think we all have a hard time asking for help, but I want to help. I don’t believe in the the self-made myth, “everyone needs someone”. That’s just my view on life. I try to stay grounded as a person. My plans for the future, outside of prison, is to continue my education in electrical and HVAC work. I’m also working to become a Welder. A little background, I never was really sure of what I wanted to do, growing up, so I decided to join the Army National Guard. My job was 13 Fox, which I enjoyed. I learned a lot of mechanical skills that I still use today. My civilian job was at the L’Oreal factory for 4 years. That job helped me advance in my mechanical skills I learned in the Reserves. I just enjoyed taking things apart and putting them back together. Luckily here, I am able to work in the electrical shop. This will all set me up for doing work that I’ll enjoy once I get out. P.S. I didn’t know how much goes into the makeup world. I can’t really discuss how they made it, but I have a good idea about makeup now! One of my favorite books is “The Inner Game of Tennis” by Tim Gallwey. I believe this book really helped me and my way of thinking about life. The book takes place inside our minds, involving everyday obstacles in life. The lack of focus, motivation, anxiety, and insecurity as well as other feelings and attitudes that inhibit our performance in life. I enjoy ready goody books as well as manga and anime. But I’ll read anything as long as it’s got a good plot. I’m not too picky about music but I do prefer to listen to rock and country. I’ve noticed country music isn’t for everyone but I’m a true Arkansan Country Boy! Country music is actually still growing on me. I like artistes like Alestorm, Rumahoy!, Josh A., Jake Hill, lil revive and Nate Smith. Unfortunately, I do not get the luxury of listening to music often without having to pay for it. That or listen to the radio or CMT on TV. True story, before I came into prison, I would listen to dubstep, but I do not feel the same about it anymore. Something I miss having are my hobbies. A hobby I am still able to maintain while here is working on my fitness. I like to weight lift and also calisthenics. Fitness has actually changed my life for the better. I became more accountable of myself, I stopped making excuses for why I wasn’t doing something more for myself and it helps mentally to not think about everything I’ve failed at, my lack of commitment to my goals, not being responsible of my actions. I was at a rock bottom but fitness has changed my mindset and made me realize that I’m not a victim, I need to take responsibility, and I need to work on myself for my future. Hey, if we have the power to change our bodies, we have the power to change our lives. This has been very important to me while here. A hobby that I would love to start when I get out is restoring and/or rebuilding old, muscle cars. Maybe even some trucks. Especially a K1500 Chevy ‘88 box style. My dream truck. Something I wouldn’t mind working on as well is an old school charger, challenger, or a Cobra Jet Shelby Mustang GT 500. I would also like to work on super sport bikes. I owned a ZZR6 and a Ninja 650 when I was younger but my dream bike is a Yamaha RI. I miss riding! Forewarning, I am a bit of a computer nerd as well. I have built my own computer. It is an i9 cpu, 512 gb DDR5/6, 3090TI gpu, 2K power supply, liquid cool, and M.2/SSD for storage. I built the computer for gaming and one of my favorite games is Factorio. I have 3K hours playing so far. I was a semi-pro Rainbow Six Seige player. That was a lot of fun. If I wasn’t playing on the computer, I would enjoy other things outdoors and working on cars. That’s me in a nutshell, some of my dreams, hopes, and hobbies. I just want to meet people because I come from a small town and want to know what other people are like outside of Arkansas. I’m not a judgy man so I’m also here to lend an ear. I’ll try to give you my all when I write. I don’t mind reading about anything that’s sent to me. I enjoy writing, talking, reading, and even listening on the phone. I hope to hear from you soon. Sincerely, Curtis
